Senator Zieman is 59 years of age, married to Jennifer and are the parents of four children, Wendy and her husband Kevin Suddendorf, Becky and her husband Mic Hayes, Douglas and his wife Dawn, and Amy and her husband Dan Norton. Two grandchildren, Kylie and Kole Suddendorf.

Born and raised in the Postville area, member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, graduated from Postville High School and attended ISU for 2 years. We have been farming for 38 years and the owner of Cherry Valley Enterprises, a trucking company. I'm a member and director of the Iowa Motor Truck Assn., past chairman of the Allamakee County Zoning Board, past chair of the Allamakee County Republican Central Committee, member of the following organizations: Corn Growers Assn., Soybean Growers Assn., National Federation of Independent Business, National and Decorah Chamber of Commerce, Postville Lions, Director of the Postville State bank.
